This book, Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.....by Douglas Adams is not the most serious type of book. If you like/love comedy this is the book for you.....if your more of the serious reader and can't stand books that joke around.....don't read this. This book has got to be one of my favorites. It's about a man named Arthur Dent. He's trying to save his house from being knocked down to build a bypass. Now in the book it takes a good long paragraph to talk about the meaning and point of bypasses. It's really funny! However before he can do anything his friend, Ford Prefect comes and takes him to the pub. He tells him the world is going to end. It does. The Aliens Destroy Earth in an attempt to build a bypass...a galactic bypass mind you. ^_^ and so it goes through the story of how Arthur and Ford survive and travel through the universe with Zaphod Beeblebrox and Trillian. They must find the meaning to Life the Universe and Everything....which happens to be... 42. Read the book and you'll understand...maybe. ^_^ Now this is the first book of the trilogy....which has 5 books in it.... yeah I know either someone can't count or they forget the 6th book to make it 2 trilogies. ^_^ You know I've heard that Douglas Adams came up with the Idea for this book when he was drunk. You imagination really runs then i guess. Best time to think up a plot to a book. hahahaha...no seriously. By: Douglas Adams
